Plant cells vs animal cells – educomic

A major difference between plant cells and animal cells is that animal cells are usually round or irregular but most plant cells are rectangular. Plant cells have a rigid cell wall that surrounds the cell membrane. Animal cells however do not have a cell wall.

Osmosis and diffusion – educomic

Diffusion is the movement of particles from an area where of high concentration to an area of where it is lower in concentration. Osmosis, however, is the movement of liquids across a semi-permeable membrane from an area of high concentration to an area of lower concentration. This tends to lead to an equalization of the liquid.

Christopher Columbus’ ambition – educomic

Christopher Columbus had the great ambition of finding a direct water route from Europe to Asia, to establish trading between Spain and the Asian continent. However, he never did. Instead, he stumbled upon the Americas. The explorer made four trips across the Atlantic Ocean from Spain: in 1492, 1493, 1498 and 1502.
